Blood Bowl: 2nd Edition Assorted Miniatures

I have several small groups of 2nd edition Blood Bowl minis that I never got enough to have a real team. Here we have 6 humans with 2 blockers, 1 blitzer, 1 catcher, 1 lineman, and a thrower. Note how the catcher looks beefier than the line man. These guys represent like 1/3 of a team and I would probably have to invest like 60 dollars on ebay to make them into a full team (which is pretty much just buying a whole team anyway) so they will probably stay just randoms for some time.

Here I have 2 Ogres from second edition. One can go with my 3rd edition marauder team and the other one into Chaos Past.

Here are my random Star Players. The Blood Bowl Ninja which I have to guess was just a sculpter wanting to make a ninja. Human star catcher and Puggy Baconbreath the only halfling from second edition that I have.

And to round it out we have the 2 undead/necro star players with a Frankstein and werewolf. These were strange players since they did not have an minis for the undead team.

Dreadfleet is Up on GW Site

GW has released the images of the models and parts of the Dreadfleet game. The models appear to be a several inches in size based on the sprue pictures. They look interesting but I am certainly not buying this. Setting and Format has no interest to me. Cost is also 115 dollars so it is pricey for a boardgame. Available October 1.

Blood Bowl: 3rd Edition Big Guys

Here we have some of my big guys/star players for my 3rd edition teams. We have Ripper. He is my only blood bowl troll so I while I have all the models which make up a goblin team I would not field it since I have but one troll for the roster. I will have to pick up the newer troll sometime to complete the team.

Here we have the bull centaur from those evil dwarves of the stupid hats. Only GW chaos dwarf model I have.
The death roller which is more of a secret weapon than a big guy. The new model is much more characterful but I think it might be to big to actually use. It is also pretty pricey.

Here is Deeproot the treeman who could be used on a halfling or wood elf team. Just like the goblins I only have 1 treeman for the halfling who usually field 3 including the star players so they are not really a team for the pitch.

Here is the Minotaur. I had this in another post with a second edition one but wanted to get it into this page also.

And here we have the ogre star player, Morg 'n' Thorg.

Stripping Plastic Minis: Simple Green vs Dawn Power Dissolver

So I am in the process of stripping some epic squats I got off of ebay recent. I have had a hard time finding more simple green so I bought some dawn power dissolver. I had some simple green left over so I decided to due a comparison and I find that the power dissolver does a much better job with half the soak time. Ofcourse I have yet to check the pieces for softening or damage so I will be doing that tonight. Neither have been able to break down the glue holding the figures to the bases. Anyone got an ideas on that.

Lego Collectable Minifigure Series 5

So Lego has released their next batch of collectable minifigures, Series 5. Essentially each pack has 1 random minifigure from the series but you can get a good idea of what it is by just feeling the pieces in the package. I got interested in these last series when I went out and got my daughter the Geisha minifigure (or Asian Princess for her). She also wanted a figure skater which I failed to properly identify at the store (ended up with wolf man when opened) so I got her one on ebay.

Now the new series has come out and I knew she would want the Cleopatra figure since she loves ancient Egyptian stuff. So I went out feeling and came back with these three.

I was looking for a Cleopatra, Gladiator, and Evil Dwarf but ended up picking 2 gladiators. Not to bad since the gladiator is just awesome. Follows the style of a Murmillo pretty closely with the helmet, armor style, and gladius sword. Only problem is the circular shield which should be more of a traditional legionar style (curved rectangle).

Even his arm has scale style overlapping plates. I went back to get some more figures at my local target a week later but they had sold all of their shipment except for 1 packet. Turned out to be the Evil dwarf I was looking for earlier. I will still have to get some more of the figures since my daughter wants a few more of the female characters.

Blood Bowl: Dark Elves

This is my third edition Blood Bowl Dark Elf team. The second edition team has some great miniatures in it but they had several different uniform styles so the team does not have a cohesive appearance. This team does not have that problem. They certainly look like a team.

Like most of my stuff this is bare metal. Team box is 2 blitzers, 2 witch elves, 1 runner, and 7 linemen.

Here are the witch elves. I really do not like these figures.

Standard pretty planar line man. Three different models in the set.

Here we see the front and back of the runner. Ofcourse when the model was designed he was a thrower but they change the dark elf team since 3rd edition to make a significantly different from the other elves. The current dark elves run the option or triple option where the runner starts with dump off instead of the traditional throwing skills.

You can have 4 blitzers on the roster and you will want them eventhough they are expensive. Their biggest problem to being a real bashing team is that the blitzers do not have access to strength skills as a normal skills.

The last team members do not come in the box. Here we have my 2 assassin models I use. One is the star player model and the other is a warhammer model. Games Workshop did produce some other dark elves with blades for blood bowl but they are currently out of production and I do not have them in my collection.

Most Sought After Bit Currently?

What do people think the most sought after bit currently in 40K modeling? I can think of Cyclone missile launchers for deathwing and logan wing, or just the thunderhammer storm shield. Maybe it is the humble space marine missile launcher for your long fangs. Could it be razorback turrents?

What do you all think? Drop a comment.
