Reaper Bones Kickstarter Stuff Finally Inbound

Reaper has finally gotten to me in the shipping queue.  My stuff is supposed to arrive next Wednesday.  Very excited.  Not sure what I am going to do with all that stuff but I am guessing it will take at least 1 night to unpack and inventory everything to make sure everything is there and in good condition.

This site has a nice index of the models which I will use to check them:

How Many X-Wing Waves Left?

So I have been following the X-wing releases.  I am a big star wars fan but did not need another game but I am wondering what comes next.  Release 3 has the tie bomber, B Wing, Dark Forces guys ship, and Imperial Shuttle.  That leaves pretty much nothing on the small scale left from the original trilogy.  You can get Expanded Universe with the X-Wing PC games and get Tie Defender, Assault Gunboat, and Z-95 Head Hunter.  Maybe get the Rebel Transport from the Empire Strikes Back as a bigger ship but their does not appear to be much else.  Something like the Blockade Runner would be several hundred dollars so not likely for mass production and fill the standard play space.

Do they put out different X-Wings and such with different cards and color schemes but they sort of already did that with the single ship versions to what comes in the starter box.  If they say put out a new Y-Wing do they discontinue the old one.

Epic: Eldar Revenant Titans

As part of the end of Specialist Games, I ordered a couple of things that I had noticed are harder to come by on the secondary markets.  Here we have the contents of the more recent Revenant Titans.  You get 2 bodies, 4 arms, 3 heads, and 3 Holofield Projector Fins.

Front and Back of the Body.

The three heads.  So 1 bonus head which can be used to dress up an objective or maybe a base for a different races titan.

The 3 fins.  Not sure if there is a specific match between the heads and the fins.

One pair of arms.  The two sets are the same and I have a hard time getting the right one to line up well with the model.

On the Road Game Store Review: Sentry Box Calgary

So this past week on was on the road for work.  I ended up in Calgary for a few days and when I go to a town I try to stop by a game store or two.  Usually I am trying to find clearance bins to go through looking for old stuff, but this time I was just looking for some specialist games stuff even at full retail since I could not even get the stuff from GW anymore.

On this trip to Calgary, I stopped at the Sentry Box.  Now if you are looking for a game store with an awesome selection this is definitely the place.  GW stuff appeared to be a list Canadian price which makes it extra expensive compared to the states but they seemed to have everything.  In terms of specialist games they are better stocked than any game store I have ever seen.  Blood Bowl had a 6 ft by 3 ft display rack.  Epic and BFG a similar amount of space.  Now I am sure that there selection will be diminished as time progresses it seems to me that you could still go in and buy what you need to get started with any teams or armies.  They even still had blister packs that GW has not made in years which allowed you to complete blood bowl teams for like 20 for the 4 other players as opposed to like 8 dollars each.

The stock was not just old left overs from the grand days of Blood Bowl and other specialist games.  Most of the things were in the current white citadel direct blisters so they have been stocking these direct only things for their customers.  I think they do online sales so if you are in Canada and looking for GW stuff that GW North America no longer sells, you should check them out.

Classic Epic Eldar War Host Box

This box set is a pretty old one that I got still shrink wrapped.  It come with 5 sprues and square bases designed in the early 90's.  It is a repack of any earlier release that have 10 sprues.  This would be the MkII eldar sprue as the original one had just guardians and falcons in it.  This set contains more types of models than the current sprue.

You can see on the back of the box that 19 different models are part of the sprue.

Here it is.  Lots of different models but not many of each in the box.
Starting at the top left: Howling Banshee, Farseer, Banner, Artillery Crew, Dark Reaper, Autrauch, Wraithguard, Autrauch, Wraithguard.
Next Row: Guardian, Guardian, Jet Bike, Ranger, Guardian, Jet Bike, Ranger, Guardian with Heavy Weapon.
3rd Row: Jetbike, Guardian, Guardian, Support Weapon, Vyper, Heavy Weapon.
Bottom Row: Dire Avenger, Striking Scorpian, Swooping Hawk, Fire Dragon, Harlequin, Dire Avenger, Striking Scorpian, Swooping Hawk, Fire Dragon, Harlequin.

Upper Right Corner

Lower Right Corner.  These are the useful models not found in the current product.  You get both the anti grav heavy weapon platform and the support weapon platform.  In the current rules, support weapons are added to gaurdian formations in groups of 3 so I have one set and 2 extra but I also have some metal ones.  The Heavy weapons replace gaurdians up to 3 per formation so those can be useful in any number but you probably want to do the full replace as guardians normally have no ranged attacks only firefight.

This section also has the Dire Avenger, Fire Dragon, and Harlies which are not in the current sprue.  Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons were up until recently sold as metals with enough models between(40 20 of each) to be 1 Aspect Formation.  I do not have those but I do have 3 different types of guardian models which might change into Aspect warriors with the proper paint colors.  Harlies are not in the current rules but might be used to represet an Extrach.
