My Cassius

I have been working on creating WYSIWYG special characters out of my existing space marine minis. I have already decided that if I was ever going to use a walking Chaplain in power armor the upgrade to Cassius is so small that I would use his rules. I happened to have an older Chaplain with a bionic face so all I need was the combi-flamer. Here I combined a normal bolter with the barrel moved up and ammo clip on the side with a sawed off flamer. The axis of the flamer is slightly off but I think it will work. It should look better once the paint hides the stress marks from the cutting and I drill out the barrels.

  1. The gun looks too big to be at arms length, maybe use an arm with a 90' bend so it is held closer to the body? Good gun tho.

  2. I will try that. It does look a little big since it has the extra length.

  3. You've not some really nice conversions here, that are simple but so effective because of it. I look forward to seeing how your army grows.

  4. Very nice custom job on the model - and I like the touch of the side mounted bolter clip on the Combi Bolter!

  5. I had this exact same idea. Traded for this particular chappy, it's just in the mail. My combi-flamer just uses the old hand flamer. Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ.

  6. I took Siph advice and moved the gun to a bent arm. Still looks pretty big. I also did the base coat of black on it which does hide a good deal of the imperfections. Probably paint the gun up tonight to see how it looks.

  7. I've had my Cassius converted for a while now. Exact same model, I just used an old hand flamer so the combi-weapon doesn't seem too big. I'll try to get pics up.

  8. I thought about using the little hand flamer but it did not have a nice distinctive flame guard. I also still need to update his picture with the new arm pose.
