X-Wing Miniatures: Tie Interceptor

A quick look at the Tie Interceptor today for the X-Wing Miniatures game.  This is from the second wave releases so my little write up is pretty late but there is the new Imperial Aces box coming which has 2 of these with new cards due out at the end of the month so maybe just a little early :-).

The model has good details on the wings and center.  The paint scheme is very basic but pretty standard for the Tie series.  The Aces ships have an accent strip or a different color to make them stand out.

Ship comes with 6 pilots (3 standard, 3 unique).  Basic stats are 3 attack, defense, and hull but no shields.  Prices go from 18-27 and come with good selection of actions but lack target lock since they cannot take missiles.  The cheapest ship comes out at 50% more expensive than a tie fighter so you are paying for the boost and extra attack die.

Of the unique pilots I think I like Turr best as you can try to get out of harms way when you are fighting at close quarters.

The ships also come with 2 veteran skills both of which are interesting but yield stress tokens when used but could be of extra use with Soontir.

Now if you have one of these and then get the Aces set you will have 3 interceptors which will fill out most of a 100 point list if you give them any upgrades.  The Wave 4 ships seem to allow for the elite Imperial list better than the current ships as they start very pricey.
