Here is the close up of the beaky honor guard. I got the idea of giving him a classic bolter from the consecrator captain in the dark angels book. Tabard from commander, powersword from assault marines.

Here you can see the studded shoulder pad from the dark angels veterans with the dark angels medallion replaced.

Other side with a shoulder pad probably from the commander kit.
not sure that i like mixing the bolter types, but this guy could be one of my Space Sharks without any trouble, you even used the same torso and shoulder pad with scroll i did.
ReplyDeleteMy army already has 4-5 metal classic marines with the old style bolter so he is not the only one.
ReplyDeleteI like the old style bolter, it's a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that I did was make sure that every honor guard has a different power weapon arm. I will not have to reuse a power weapon bit until I get to 9 or 10 members. One of the next ones has a metal vet powerweapon (from Mk II vets) and the other has a space wolves power sword. I still have the assault marines power axe since it is opposite to the wolves axe I already used. Just a little variation to make the unit more unique.
ReplyDeleteI love Mk 6 armour - nice work!
ReplyDeleteI am going to revoke your blogging license if I come down in the morning and find little bits all over the kitchen table again!
