New Lego B-Wing

So Lego has a new Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) B-Wing Starfighter out and it looks pretty cool in pictures.  So I was at the nearest lego store and checked it out.  My is it big.  Site lists it at 26 by 17 inches on the display stand  Probably bigger than minifigure true scale.  Ofcourse you would want something impressive for 199.99 but I think it might be too big for me.   UCS kits are supposed to be for display so I cannot really blame them if the model seems to big to let the kids play with at some point.  Like my Tantive IV, model might be tough to even handle and move without shedding pieces.

Most of my Star Wars stuff is down in the basement in a storage tub with some on display at the top of a bookcase in our bedroom but their does not appear to be room for this bad boy.  I have gotten at least 1 copy of most of the original trilogy star fighters: A-wing, B-wing, X-wing, Y-Wing, Falcon, Slave I, Tie Fighter, Tie Advanced, and Tie Interceptor.  Just need the Tie Bomber now plus a Shuttle if I really want to have everything that is not really large.

  1. You are right on the large factor. I have the collectors, x-wing, tie, T4, naboo fighter, and star destroyer. The T4 takes a lot of room which I don't have currently. The star destroyer is three feet long and I have only built it once. Still if I can get it, I'll try to get it.

    1. That is a pretty sweet collection. I would love to have the Star Destoryer, Super Star Destroyer, and both Death Stars but I just cannot get to the 400 dollar price point. I can easily spend 400 dollars in a year on legos but in 1 go that is tough for me.

  2. Hadn't seen this one yet, $200 bucks is a bit steep for me right now but it would be nice to get this one. The B-Wing was an instant fave when it surfaced.

    1. Pretty much online only and lego stores. I know there is a lego store in Cincinnati that I stopped at one time driving home from a business trip in Louisville.
