Impact! Miniatures Brings Classic Rolljordan Back to the Pitch

Impact! Miniatures is running a kickstarter to get two classic Roll Jordan Fantasy Football Teams converted to their Trollcast Resin.  The first team is the Frog man team whose metal versions I am using in the league right now.  There are some new blitzer models to better mark them as different from the line and and sideline figures.  The second is the Silvania Elf team which look like lovely models but are a little more sexy than I would like in my fantasy football teams.  I have noted in the past it is very hard to find a reasonably clad and styled female team.  Base teams are a very reasonable 50 for full rosters with big guys (or gals).  Sideline/star packs are like 24 for those 8 models.  Might get a Frog sideline pack myself, since I do like my frog models.

Mantic Plus Kickstarters Means Someone gets Screwed

Mantic just put out an update for the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter. Way down at the bottom in their is a throw away type annoucement with no details really that says:

Please be aware that there may be some unique items that we are unable to get hold of. If this is the case, we will be in touch with you once we’ve confirmed what stock we won’t have, and will offer an alternative.

So in effect they are saying that some people just might not be getting certain things. They will not make more. They can claim cannot but that is almost never true for something you made 6 months ago. You can always make more of something its just the cost is not reasonable for you to do it. They would rather just screw those customers out of most likely the kickstarter exclusive stuff. Nice Job Mantic. Way to step up and fix your mistakes.

Mantic Kickstarters are like an inverse lottery where most people do fine but a select few win.  If you win you prize disappears down a never ending whole of horrible kickstarter delivery and customer service issues.

Mantic's Latest

Mantic has announced their next project which will probably be a kickstarter that has not launched yet.  Now Mantic and I do not have what I would call a good relationship.  I value things like communication, follow through, and honesty.  Not sure for Mantic.  If you are not sure what I am talking about you should take a look at my discussion for all the missing stuff that was promised for the dungeon saga kickstarter.  Another great place for information is the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter page where plenty of people report very little response from mantic on missing pledges and parts more than 2 months after shipping started.

I have followed these comments closely and have made plenty myself.  I will personally say that I have seen Mantic misinform backers about checkable things in the comments section and go silent when corrected.  That fact itself speaks to my opinion of their values.

Now if you love the license Mantic's games are not bad and they do often give you a pile of stuff for your money but you are never going to be sure if the part they think is important and worth putting effort into is what you think it is.  The main reason you pledged might turn up in a form that requires pages of FAQ before you can even try to use it.
