Lego Star Wars Rebels The Phantom
Lego who is always on the look out for new things to add to their Star Wars line, I am sure jumped at getting stuff from the Rebels cartoon series. When it initially came out, I tried to get the kids to watch it but they did not want to. Now that it is in season 2 they want to so we have to go back and watch the first season. This set is from the inital Rebels release. The set includes the small ship the Phantom along with Erza and C1-10P, Chopper.

Lego Star Wars Rebel Alliance Battle Pack
So March 1st brought a new wave of Lego Star Wars releases and when I saw the new Rebel Battle Pack, I knew I had to get it. Now the Battle Packs are your army builder sets and while I do not really build armies by picking up more than 1, I often get 1 copy if the figures are interesting. In the set you get a 2 person speeder, 2 jump packs, and 4 minifigures.

X-Wing: Original Core Set
This is a post mainly for a archive as this came out years ago and they have just released a new version with the revised ships and apparently a new damage deck from the new movie. The Core Set comes with everything you need to play a very very small game of X-Wing. Outside the three ships what comes in the box that you need are the rules, attack and defense dice (custom marked 8 siders), movement templates, and assorted additional counters, mission markers and asteroid markers. Probably the hardest thing to come by would be the damage deck as you can make your own templates and just use a number system on the dice. I bet a lot of this stuff was on the secondary market when the set was new as people might by more than 1 to save a little on the ships. I personally got 2 sets as they were on clearance for like 20 dollars at target about a year after the game was released.
The box comes with 2 tie fighters and 1 x-wing and playing straight out of the box I think the imperials have the advantage with the 2 to 1 even if you try to balance a game at like 25 points. I apparently got one of the pegs mixed in with some other ships.
The Ties are the same as the expansion pack with not difference so it is not even like the repaints or marking changes seen with later releases.
The back of the ship ofcourse. Need different views for any review.
Here are the pilots from the starter. Not that anyone needs this information this late in the production run but you get 3 standard(with doubles of each also) and 3 unique pilots.
Now 3 shots of your friendly neighborhood X-Wing.
Maybe you should not put your deflector screens at double front when people are chasing you.
The X-Wings have a problem with keeping their cannons straight. I do not think I have seen very many of these that looked just right.
For the X-Wing it is two standard and 2 unique pilots. Biggs is there to get shot at so he will die fast while Luke is better at defending with a minor defensive focus always in effect.
The starter set only comes with 5 upgrade cards between the 3 ships and 3 of the 5 only work with the X-Wing. Since you pretty much need this set to play the game I can recommend it as the game is pretty good. It has grown to big already and probably is now totally outside the scope of balancsble but still can be fun.

X-Wing: X-Wing Expansion
Another something that I missed posting back in the day when I got it was the X-Wing expansion. So this
post is mainly just to fill in the X-Wing post sets to which the page that lists them has a link on the right column.

X-Wing: Tie Bomber Expansions
I appear to have missed the Tie Bomber when I was doing my rundowns of the various X-Wing ship so here it is much belated. The other ships and stuff can be found in my X-Wing Page. The model is pretty nice with solid detailing and none of the small bits that are prone to warping.

X-Wing: Imperial Raider Rules
Now onto the meat of the review after looking at the model and included Tie Advanced Repaint. The Rules for running the Raider. It is a huge Epic ship so has the same basic rules as the Rebel Blockage runner. You live or die by your energy and how you use it. You speed/maneuver determines ow much energy you get each turn. You spend energy on extra weapon attackes, repairing your shields, etc. So unless the terrain or mission force you into lots of movement you are probably just trying to get the most energy possible.

X-Wing: Imperial Raider's Tie Advanced
The Imperial Raider box also comes with a Tie Advanced, I assume to try to bring new life to an unloved ship who just could not compete in the early meta when you could essentially get 2+ Tie fighters for its cost.

X-Wing Miniatures Games: Imperial Raider Model
For Force Friday, I needed a Star Wars post so while I have not gotten the new X-Wing Starter set, I did get the Imperial Raider as an anniversary present this year. This is a big set with a lot to look at so we will break the review down into three parts. Today we are going to start are look with a look at just the model. The model is very light given its size which probably again means it is hollow. The design is soft of along the star destroyer theme but it seems more pointy with a smaller bridge area and tie like side panels around the ship.

Lego Star Wars: DeathStar Troopers
Here we have one of the battle pack type sets that Lego puts out each year for the Star Wars range. The set has 2 Deathstar gunners, 2 Royal Guards, and a Turbolaser that we wall know is not very good against small fighters. It is not a set that you buy many of since neither of two types of minifigures form an army or force but one or two gives you some figures that you might not have another reasonably priced source for.

X-Wing: M3-A Interceptor
The M3-A Interceptor is a small ship for the Scum and Villainy faction which has a range of price points 15,20,30, and 40 dollars. The 20 dollars ship sort of struck me as an unfortunate development as I now expect to see more small base ships in that range in the future. These items are already very expensive for what they contain but X-Wing is still selling strong. In the set you get the standard selection of items for the game.

Lego Star Wars: Snow Speeder
This Star Wars Snow Speeder was one of the sets that came out around last Christmas. It is a small set at the 30 dollar price point with just a speeder and 3 minifigures. This would probably been only a 20 dollar set a few years ago but Lego prices have been going up like they are health care items.

Lego Star Wars: Imperial Shuttle Tydirium
So this was the set from the Summer Star Wars releases that I had to get. I am a classic trilogy ship junkie and did not yet have an Imperial Shuttle. They had an Imperial shuttle model for a while previously but it was one of the Collector Series models thus large and expensive. It was also supposed to be pretty fragile which is a problem for me because I think I get daily requests from the little one to play with the Star Wars Lego ships.

X-Wing: Most Wanted Expansion
So today I will look at the Scum and Villainy faction Most Wanted Expansion Pack. This is a repaint pack like Imperial or Rebel Aces in that ships are not new but repainted versions of early releases but it is significantly different as it is using those ships for the new Underworld faction.

Lego Star Wars: Mos Eisley Cantina
My Lego collection has grown quite a bit since I started to get them again about 5 years ago. Now Lego releases about 12 or so Star Wars sets a year and with very limited source material they end up repeating sets over and over again. After my 5 years, I have done a pretty good job filling in my collection with sets that fit my interest and have now gotten to the point where 1 or 2 of the sets really interest me. Now they do a good job of always having new and better minifigures but I just cannot afford to go chasing after those.
The Mos Eisley Cantina was a set that I knew I wanted as soon as I saw it. You get a multi-alcove cantina, Luke's Speeder (which I did not have), and a Dewback. All good.

X-Wing: Rebel Transport
Look at that beauty. The first of the big ships for X-Wing and I am just now going to talk about it. So behind on this stuff ofcourse I do not get out to play much either.
Here we have our box contents punch and laid out. While you get the large ship movement template you do not get the super long range ruler that comes with the corvette as the transport has no turbolasers or other direct weapons.
Here we see the detailing on the upper skin. Pretty reasonable.
The tiny cockpit raised up to I assume help the pilots see over the front of the ship.
Get the engines on the stern.
And some nice little cargo bins showing on the bottom skin. Overall very nice looking and faithful to the movies. The model looks nice but it is very light to the touch. Mostly hollow.
Not very impressive base card. The Epic ships do not really seem to be pointed in a way to make them seem very good.
Some interesting tweaks in the ship cards.
Backup Shield Generator seems handy to stay alive.
Slicer tools might be nice to deal with hard to hit but fragile ships. Pretty pricey at 7 but interesting.
Crew cards all huge ship onlys.
You get the large ship rules and some missions for a campaign.

Lego Star Wars: Scum and Villiany Minifigures
I had my Lego Star Wars bins out with my son the other day so decided to grab a shot of the minifigures related to the Hutt criminal syndicate and other bounty hunters or rogues. Figures are from Jabba's Palace, Rancor Pit, Jabba's Sail Barge, Desert Skiff, Slave I, and Skyhopper.

X-Wing Miniatures: YT-2400 Freighter
Maybe this is why I play Dead Games like Blood Bowl. Here we are looking at another Big Rebel ship with a turret, the YT-2400, but I think the Meta has already moved on with an upgrade card in one of the scum and villainy packs to cut the value of turrets.
This is sort of an interesting looking ship. Lots of details, color markings, and carbon scoring. I think I remember having a ship like this in the X-Wing Allaince game but I am not sure. That cannon on top looks pretty big and does not appear to have much elevation control which is certainly an issue in 3D space combat.
Really funny pods/bubbles on the cockpit.
For people who like to repaint or mod with lights the engine section definitely needs some work.
Only 4 pilots, 1 generic and 3 unique. Unlike the Falcon pack all the ship stats are the same. Eaden will work well in a list that can give out stress. Leebo looks good if large ships are an issue for you but might need some help generating criticals.
Lots of cards in the box. Outrider seems pretty expensive to turret mount the heavy cannon. Dash seems nice for a big ship.
Lone wolf seems like a fair card for a two big ship list. Most of these cards seem like different ways of bringing in effects that already exist but the card list has gotten so big now I have a hard time remembering them all.
I am still sort of surprised that I have not seen more fixed list type of missions for X-Wing. The big ships have their mini campaigns but I have sort of expected more.

X-Wing Miniatures: Rebel Aces
Here we get the contents of the rebel aces box. I know the hot stuff now is the Scum and Villainy but my one of those is sitting waiting for a gift time since the basic box is quite pricy and I bought full retail to support a local store that I sometime go in and look at stuff in since it is conveniently located to other shopping destinations. Anyway you get your 2 rebel ships, cards, components, and a rule back with a new mission.
Ships are repaints of the B-Wing and A-Wing expansions. This time my B-Wing does not have a bend down the middle which is good.
Interesting color choices. Not really my first choice for either but if they did not come painted they would stay plastic grey forever in my house so cannot complain to much.
Interesting new unique pilots. Get a torpedo specialist which would probably go well with ordnance failsafe, guy who can use stress as an attack focus which would go with push the limit perfectly to get you essentially 3 actions every turn you can manage to shoot at someone. Defensive dogfighter for A-wing pilot and a bonus movement action pilot.
Doubles of all the upgrade cards. Crew members for b-wings and low cost missile free a-wings. Proton rockets could be nasty on someone who can get multiple focus tokens and a target lock for a 5 die attack with all the bonuses.
Crew guys for the b-wing mods.
New mission. Now I just need to get some play time in with all this stuff.
